Westborough is the home base
Our business address is 210 Turnpike Rd, in the 01581 ZIP code. Westborough sits where I-90 and I-495 meet, with Route 9 running through the commercial areas and Route 30 meeting Route 135 at the rotary in the center of town. Those roads are how plumbers reach most of the surrounding towns, which is why the service area follows them.
Westborough's own water comes from nine groundwater wells and the Westboro Reservoir, so homes inside the town share a supply that is treated with chlorine and fluoride and carries corrosion control.
That matters for pipes, because corrosion control chemistry is chosen to protect the metal inside older plumbing, and it is one reason a sudden change at a single tap deserves a plumber's attention. If you live here, the Westborough emergency plumbing page covers the services, the cost drivers and what to do while you wait.
ZIP codes and towns at a glance
The table lists every ZIP code we dispatch to and the water source that matters most for plumbing decisions in that town.
| Town | ZIP codes | County | Water situation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Westborough | 01581 | Worcester | Local wells and the Westboro Reservoir. |
| Northborough | 01532 | Worcester | All MWRA supply. |
| Southborough | 01772 | Worcester | All MWRA supply. |
| Shrewsbury | 01545 | Worcester | Municipal wells treated for manganese. |
| Grafton | 01519, 01536, 01560 | Worcester | Grafton Water District, three villages. |
| Hopkinton | 01748 | Middlesex | Town wells plus many private wells. |
Towns east and north of Westborough
Northborough is the closest town to the north. All of its water came from the MWRA in 2021, and the town reported lead and copper tap results below the action levels. That is useful context, because an old fixture in the house is a likelier lead source than the main.
Southborough lies along Route 9 to the east and also buys its water from the MWRA. Its villages, Cordaville, Fayville and Southville, have different house ages, and the page explains how that changes the likely cause of a leak or backup.
Towns west and south of Westborough
Shrewsbury is the largest of the five by population, and its wells are treated for manganese. Staining on fixtures there is more often a treatment or sediment question than a plumbing failure, and the page walks through how to tell them apart.
Grafton is the one town with three ZIP codes, one for each of North Grafton, Grafton and South Grafton. Our Grafton page names all three so you can confirm coverage before you call.
Hopkinton is in Middlesex County, not Worcester County. About four in ten residents rely on private wells that the town does not treat, so well pump, pressure tank and filtration questions come up more there than anywhere else we serve.
How dispatch decides who goes where
Dispatch assigns each call based on the address, the type of problem and which plumbers are free. The five towns are tied together by I-495, Route 9, Route 30 and Route 135, so a plumber working in one town is often within reach of the next.
That is why we can offer same-day appointments across the area when the schedule allows, without promising a time before we know the day's call volume.
Private wells and town water: why the difference matters
Towns on municipal water, like Westborough, Northborough and Southborough, publish annual water quality reports, so you can look up what is in the supply. Homes on private wells, which are common in Hopkinton, are responsible for their own testing, and the town does not treat that water.
The difference shows up in the plumbing. A house on a well has a pump, a pressure tank and often a filter, and those add failure points that a town-water house does not have. Mention the well when you call, because the right parts depend on it.
What to tell dispatch when you call from a neighboring town
A little detail helps us place the call correctly.
- Your town and street address, not only the nearest landmark.
- Your village if you are in Grafton, because North Grafton, Grafton and South Grafton are separate ZIP codes.
- Whether the house is on town water or a private well.
- What is happening in plain words, and whether the water is shut off.
